This list is designed as a guide to help you make the most of your library's web site.

There should be clear links or paths to the important information contained on the library's web site:
-Library Contact Information:Address, phone, fax, email, web address; Hours; Director's name; Map or directions to the library
-Link to the general Public Library Catalog* at http://gigcat.midhudson.org
-Link to the Kid's Catalog (OPAC)* at http://gigcat.midhudson.org:90/kids
-Link to HomeAccess (electronic databases) *
-Link to the Lifelines (homework help site)* at http://midhudson.org/lifelines/
-Link to the MHLS Workforce site * at http://midhudson.org/workforce/
-Link to the Health Information Project (HIP) site* at http://midhudson.org/hip/main.htm

-Link to your local town, village or city web site
-Link to your local schools

Basic Accessibility**

Viewable in both IE and Netscape***

Date sensitive information should be identified as current (for example: current list of trustees, upcoming programs, etc.)

Counter that generates basic statistical information (for example eXTReMe Tracking: http://www.extreme-dm.com/tracking/?reg)

Links on the web site should be checked regularly.

***Be sure to check how your page displays in both Internet Explorer and Netscape. The two browsers interpret HTML code differently and therefore what looks fine in IE may look wrong in Netscape.
