Children's Africana Book Awards (CABA) (1950-2006)

The Children's Africana Book Awards were established in 1991 by the Outreach Council of the African Studies Association to encourage the publication and use of accurate, balanced children's books on Africa. The awards focus specifically on books published in the United States about Africa. Awards are presented in two categories: Best Book for Young Children and the Best Book for Older Readers. The awards are announced in the fall of the year.
