NOTE: This information supplied by Kat Kan as of 12.5.07:
I just checked with Kristen at ADV Films, and she confirmed that the company is restructuring the club; there will be no packets sent out in December, and it may possibly extend into the New Year. However, she stressed that the club will be back soon.
Libraries that can get other anime titles can still request screening permissions for specific titles with ADV, go with the FUNimation Operation Anime, or send screening permission requests to other companies. The contact list in "The Anime-ted Library" e-article at www.voya.com has some outdated information, but here are some updates I did for an October anime/manga workshop. Company info on the list not mentioned in these updates is still valid as far as I can tell.
Anime Crash doesn't seem to be operating any longer.
AN Entertainment - the email contact no longer works.
Geneon is no longer doing business in the U.S., as of a few weeks ago.
Bandai Entertainment's Anime Addict club is apparently undergoing a reorganization; when I accessed the site on Oct. 18, the information there stated "coming soon."
ADV Film's Anime ADVocates website is now http://advocates.advfilms.com
Animeigo - you can find information about screening permissions at www.animeigo.com/FAQ.t - the contact there is still Anita.
Central Park Media - now you must send an email to Info@teamcpm.com with "Request for Screening Permission" in the subject line.
FUNimation's Operation Anime club. The information should still be accurate. Recent postings on listservs indicate that contacting Sophie McNutt gives great results.
Manga Entertainment - they did not respond to queries in 2005 or on Oct. 18.
Media Blasters - my email to them on Oct. 18 could not be delivered.
Tokyopop - no longer handles anime; the titles they used to carry are now handled by FUNimation.
Urban Vision - they did not respond to email by Oct. 19.
