A Patron's Guide to Borrowing 16mm Films
|
If you are within the Mid-Hudson
LIbrary System (i.e. you live in Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Putnam or Ulster
county):
- Select materials through the Interent
at http://avcat.sebridge.org/MHLS/catalog/, by title and item number.
- Submit a list of Item #'s and
titles to the library circulation desk and include the dates of when films
are needed (if they will be used for a program).
- The MHLS Audio-Visual Department,
or your library, will schedule materials and send a confirmation notice to
your library.
- Materials will be delivered to
your library by the Mid-Hudson Library System.
If you are outside the system,
but live in New York State:
- Ask your local library to request
materials from the Mid-Hudson Library System, through the standard ALA Interlibrary
Loan form. If they have any questions they can contact the Audio-Visual department
by: Phone (845) 471-6060
ext.44
Fax (845) 454-5940
E-mail tfinnigan@midhudson.org
Restrictions
-
Audio-Visual Materials
are fragile and must not be returned in a library drop box. All copyright
restrictions are upheld. Please return materials on time as other patrons
are waiting.
-
Use only a 16mm sound projector.
Check the projector before screening. Thread the film carefully and correctly.
Stop the projector at the first sign of trouble. Don't mend the film with
any type of splice. If a film breaks, send the damaged footage back with
the film. Rewind the film and return it in its can, in proper condition.
Mid-Hudson Library System checks and cleans all 16mm films before each loan
and disclaims any responsibility for damage to user's 16mm film projector
which should be checked by the user on a regular basis.
