The Youth Services Department at the Mid-Hudson Library System is responsible for projects and issues pertaining to library services to children and youth and the adults who work with them. We are here to assist member libraries with program planning, publicity, collection development, advocacy and support for development of library services for children and young adults (birth to age 18).

We offer materials, resource guides and current information to help member libraries plan and administer story hours, family programs and youth program events. We provide support for the New York State Summer Reading Program; maintain a collection of materials to be used in storyhour and other library sponsored programming; provide special services and materials including bibliographies, special topic book collections, and cooperative exchanges with other library systems; plan and conduct Children's Literature workshops, special subject/topic presentations and in-service training opportunities.
