Teen Volunteer Tasks
(During Down Time)

Make author file folders (cut and paste printed info on folders)
Circ stuff (stamp date due cards, copy & cut forms, etc)
Clean picture books
Shelf reading
Cut scrap paper
Supply closet inventory & reorganization
Book inventory
Dusting/Cleaning shelves
Locate fun web pages for kids
Locate fun web pages for teens
Make flannel boards
Photocopying (computer sign up sheets, reference sheets, bibliographies, etc)
Repairing books and other materials (taping ripped pages)
Searching the web for homework sites
Shelve board books
Straighten the children's area (pick up loose books, push in chairs, pick up paper off the floor, etc)
Straighten the Holiday books
Check library's holdings against other book lists (A to Zoo, etc)
Clean computer equipment (keyboards, mice)
Clean around computer area (pick up paper in between computers, on the floor, etc)
Make sure there's scrap paper and sharpened pencils near the OPACs
Go through board books and weed (pull icky ones)
Find board books and cross off date on date due slip
Search for lost and claims returned books
Go through puzzles—make sure no pieces are missing. Pull any pieces that don't belong and any puzzles with missing pieces
Write book reviews
Create bookmarks (bibliographies)
