The Book Sale
In the basement of the Millbrook Library they had used books. As many of you know, people keep giving [the library] used books. I think it's wonderful! I bought about $50 worth of books at 50 cents and a dollar. But, for the librarians, it's a bit of a headache because you often have books donated that you don't want and can't sell.If you can weed through them, you can do an on-going book sale, - do a little advertising - put bright pink flyers up around town. Say 'terrific books' and 'donated all the time' whatever you want to say. We sold $700 worth of books at .50 cents and a dollar.
I knew we were doing a good job when I went down on a weekend, and saw some German and French tourists in the basement of this small library, buying English language books! So book sales are a source of revenue that, if advertised properly, can bring in a lot of money.
