Staff Contributions
I think it is very important for all the staff in the library to give. I started out by saying 'I'm not really staff, but you've all welcomed me and we're all working together, so I'm making a contribution and I hope you all will too.' Staff giving is an important statement to the board - it's important as it proves loyalty.

At a school where I was raising money a few years ago we managed to raise $100,000 from the staff. They gave it over five years,- took it out of their salaries. This became absolutely magical, when we went to the wealthy members of the community and told them what the staff was doing, they just all of sudden realized that the campaign was something really important.
