Assignment Alert Contest |
To get the school librarian to notify the local public library when a new school assignment has been given, try the following:
- Give assignment alert forms to all school librarians in district
- Tell them whenever they submit a form to public library staff, their name gets entered in a drawing for a gift certificate at local store/restaurant (indie bookstore, big box books stores, nice restaurant, etc.)
- Hold drawing every semester or annually, whichever works for you
- Publicize the winner's name in library newsletter and local newspaper, put up sign in library and in school media center
- To broaden this effort, include teachers in the contest
