RE: REGINA MORINI ELECTED PRESIDENT OF MID-HUDSON LIBRARY SYSTEM BOARD
Regina Morini, a resident of Mahopac, New York, in Putnam County, has been elected President of the Mid-Hudson Library System’s Board of Trustees for the year 2003. The Mid-Hudson Library System supports 65 public libraries and their trustees in a region that encompasses Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Putnam and Ulster Counties. It’s mission is to assist public libraries by facilitating economical resource sharing, distributing over two million library holdings throughout the region and improving library services with professional development and continuing educational opportunities for staff and trustees. System efforts are directed toward insuring high-quality library and information services for the region.
Mrs. Morini is a Putnam County Legislator who also serves on the Board of Directors of County Bank, Putnam Hospital Center and Hospice Care in Westchester and Putnam. She has served as a officer of the lake Mahopac Rotary Club, the United Way of Putnam, the American Cancer
Society and the Carmel Historical Society. She was the recipient of the prestigious Putnam Community Service Award for her leadership in implementing an automation project for Putnam County libraries. She was also awarded the lake Mahopac Rotary Community Services Award in 2000 in recognition of her outstanding public service.
“I look forward to the challenges ahead”, stated Mrs. Morini. “Library service is an essential public need. Information technology and the escalation in the amount of information now available have increased the importance of libraries. Public demand for current and new services is on the rise in all libraries in our region. We will work diligently to meet all these growing needs”.
