construction-plans-and-hat Construction Grant Technical Assistance Workshop: Tuesday, June 7th from 10:00am – 12:00pm in the MHLS Auditorium | Presented by Rebekkah Smith Aldrich, MHLS Coordinator for Sustainable Libraries

This workshop should be considered mandatory for libraries who have indicated they intend to apply for the next round of funding through State Aid for Public Library Construction program. This workshop will focus on the technical aspects of the grant application and associated paperwork and cover:

  • An orientation to the online application portal
  • A review of the mandatory attachments
  • Answers to frequently asked questions, including an open Q&A period

Improved Discovery

newimproved MHLS implemented Encore Release 4.5 with new features that strengthen discovery capabilities across local collections and digital content:

  • Patron Account for Encore Mobile
    A native “My Account” in the Encore Mobile application offers a new view of patron features patrons can access without ever leaving the Encore mobile interface. This includes checkouts, holds, fines/fees, programs, preferred searches, reading history, and customized patron lists;
  • Advanced Search
    An improved user interface for the Advanced Search page ensures there is a better understanding of the data limits and expanders that apply to search results; and
  • Genre Facet
    Allows MHLS to add a genre facet in addition to the local facets currently available at that location.
