The Freedom to Read Act (S.1099/A.7777) was delivered to Governor Kathy Hochul’s desk on December 9, 2025.
The Governor now has until December 19 to render a final decision on the bill. The New York Library Association (NYLA) is calling on #LibraryAdvocates everywhere to contact Governor Hochul and urge her to sign this critical legislation today – take action at this link.
