Join co-author of the Handbook For Library Trustees of New York State Rebekkah Smith Aldrich and friends for this fun and informative series! At each session, trustees will take a deeper dive on a topic relevant to their role and responsibilities as a library trustee.

Rebekkah will be joined by Kristin O’Neill, Esq., Assistant Director of the Committee on Open Government. Kristin O’Neill was appointed Assistant Director of the Committee on Open Government in 2015. She received her law degree from the University at Buffalo and a BA from Le Moyne College. As Assistant Director of the Committee, Ms. O’Neill provides legal advice regarding application of the New York State Freedom of Information, Open Meetings and the Personal Privacy Protection Laws. She has addressed numerous organizations in New York State and authored hundreds of written advisory opinions. She has spoken on open government laws and concepts throughout the state before government representatives, advocacy organizations and media representatives. Prior to joining the Committee, Ms. O’Neill was a member of the Office of Counsel at the New York State Office of Mental Health and served as the agency’s records access officer.
