At the state level, both one-house budget bills rejected the Governor’s proposed cuts! The Governor had proposed $87 million for library aid; $14 million for construction aid and the one-house budget bills show:
- Assembly Proposal: $96.6 million for library aid and $34 million for construction aid
- Senate Proposal: $94.1 million for library aid and $34 million for construction aid
The New York Library Association (NYLA) has issued a call to action through their Online Advocacy Center to both thank legislators for these one-house budget proposals and to help keep the pressure on through the on-going negotiations.
