COVID-19 State of Emergency

The Governor announced on September 12th that the COVID-19 state of emergency will not be extended. This state of emergency has been in effect since March 2020 and extended monthly up until September 12th. The Monkeypox and Polio States of Emergency are still in effect.

On March 17th, 2022, the designation of COVID-19 as an airborne infectious disease that presents a serious risk of harm to the public health under the HERO Act ended. Private sector employers are no longer required to implement their workforce safety plans.

The suspension of the COVID-19 State of Emergency means that the COVID-19 era Open Meeting Law Adjustments are no longer in play. To ensure you are clear on Open Meetings Law in a “post-state of emergency” you will want to review:
