MHLS Featured in Current Issue of Hudson Valley Magazine! The April 2016 issue has a 6-page feature article on libraries in the Hudson Valley, including many MHLS member libraries! With more than half a dozen libraries featured the article tells the story of how libraries are adapting, connecting and surprising their communities. From the article:

The 56th Annual Membership Meeting of the Mid-Hudson Library System was held on October 16th at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel. Attending the meeting were 112 library directors, trustees, staff members and special guests. Our theme this year was “Libraries Build Sustainable Communities.”

Presented by Merribeth Advocate, MHLS Assistant Director and Kerstin Cruger, MHLS Marketing & Program Assistant, this workshop provides baseline nuts-and-bolts information about making the most of programming at your library.
The workshop will cover:
• The importance of year-round (including summer) programming for all ages
• Best practices for program planning and scheduling
• Making community connections
• Resources available to your library
