Follow That Book! takes story time on the road to local businesses, nonprofits and outdoor activity sites in the community. Engaging children and parents in an immersive experience that not only produces the traditional benefits of early literacy but exemplifies the newest trend in early literacy education: libraries emerging as leaders in parent engagement.
The program encourages parents to interact with their children using the five practices of early literacy: singing, talking, reading, writing, and playing while being “out in the world” and learning socialization skills that will serve families in everyday life as well as build the confidence of the child.
